1)  BE READY.  Your child needs to be in uniform (jersey, shorts, socks OVER shinguards, cleats).  SHINGUARDS ARE REQUIRED.  The referee will not allow your child to play without shinguards.  NO jewelry is allowed.  ALWAYS bring your extra jersey and water.
2)  BE EARLY.  Plan to arrive at the field 30 minutes before the game to warm up.
3)  COMMUNICATE.  If your child can not be at the game or will be late, call your coach.  If your child needs a ride to the game, talk to the coach and your fellow parents.
4)  CHEER but avoid telling your child what to do on the field.  Everyone gets excited during the games, but coaching from the sidelines interferes with your child's ability to hear his/her coach and teammates.  Also, one of the goals of youth soccer is for your child to learn to make good decisions under pressure.  It's hard for them to do that when we are always telling them what to do.
5)  BE THOUGHTFUL AND RESPECTFUL to other parents, coaches, and referees.  They are just as human as you are.  Specifically with regards to referees, abuse of referees will not be tolerated.  A spectator should never address a referee.  If you have a problem, talk to your coach.
6)  BE POSITIVE.  When your child comes off the field, what they want to hear most is, "I love to watch you play."
